A Distinct Identity as Nutrition Experts

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are food and nutrition experts who have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program at a health-care facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies. Typically, a practice program will run six to 12 months in length. Then, passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). For more information regarding the examination, refer to CDR’s website at RD/RDNs must also completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.

An advantage to seeing a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is the ability to use health insurance to cover all or part of the cost of service. We currently accept Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, PacificSource, Cigna, and United Healthcare. We also accept Medicare Part B and Oregon Health Plan for qualifying conditions.

If you qualify for nutrition services but do not have coverage with one of our health insurance providers, we are able to provide you with a SuperBill to submit for reimbursement of your payment for services based on your health care plan. Contact your health insurance representative for details on what nutrition services your health care plan covers and out of pocket expenses. All Services must be paid for in advance.
