WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE COMPLEMENTARY CONSULTATION
Once you schedule your complimentary consultation you will receive a confirmation email. Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) will also send a follow-up email with additional information, including a zoom link if you choose a virtual appointment.
The virtual or phone consultation lasts between 15 and 25 minutes. Our RDN/CPT, Cary Cuevas, will start the conversation by giving you a brief background on her career and experience, and approach to working with individuals.
We save most of our time talking about what you’re looking for from a Registered Dietitian (RDN) and your health and wellness goals. Cary may ask some questions to better understand your needs. Feel free to ask any questions you have at this time, or as they come up throughout the conversation.
If we decide to move forward and schedule a first appointment, we’ll go over the next steps. We have both in-person and virtual appointments available for both Nutrition Services and Personal Training.
Our in-personal Nutrition Services appointments are held at a small boutique gym called Aspire Total Fitness in Happy Valley, Oregon.
Our in-person Personal Training services are available at Aspire Total Fitness and The Strength Lab; both are located in the Happy Valley/Clackamas area.
Our virtual appointments for Nutrition Services and Personal Training are conducted through a HIPAA approved secure web-based health portal called Healthie.
All our intake forms and standard HIPAA required forms are electronic and stored on our health portal. You’ll receive an email to create an account and complete the forms. If you have one of the health insurance plans we accept, you will share that information as you set up your account. You will also receive appointment confirmations through the health portal.
If you are planning to use health insurance, please complete and submit the health insurance information form as soon as possible so we can verify coverage and avoid sending a bill to cover the cost of the service after the session. For Nutrition out-of-pocket payments, you will be charged after the session is completed. We do not offer packages for nutrition services, but charge on a per session basis. We offer reasonable rates per session between $50 - $130, which last between 30 and 75 minutes. We accept credit cards, HSA and Flexible Spending cards or we can provide a detailed invoice for flexible spending reimbursement.

For Personal Training we cannot accept health insurance for payment. We offer single sessions and package options. Some HSA programs do allow you to use your HSA funds for personal training with pre-authorization with a medical doctor's referral. Packages are paid for in advance and tracked.
FAQ
WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER SEEING A REGISTERED DIETITIAN NUTRITIONIST IF I JUST WANT TO LOSE A LITTLE WEIGHT OR EAT HEALTHIER?
Some health insurance providers will cover nutrition services appointments to improve eating behaviors without having an underlying health condition. Nutrition services are often a part of the preventative services program your plan offers. We can help you determine what coverage you may have through your health insurance provider.
HOW CAN I USE MY HSA OR FLEXIBLE SPENDING?
If you have an HSA or Flexible Spending Debit or Credit Card, we can accept all forms of debit or credit card payments. Please let us know if you will need a detailed receipt for proof of service. We can also provide a detailed receipt or invoice for you to submit for reimbursement.
HOW MANY NUTRITION SESSIONS DO I NEED TO ACCOMPLISH MY GOALS? AM I OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF SESSIONS?
Everyone has different needs and goals. Some people only feel like they need 1 or 2 sessions to help them accomplish their goals. Others schedule sessions every 2-3 weeks for accountability, support, and guidance. Therefore, we do not require a minimum number of sessions to be purchased. We only charge on a per session basis. Our current rate range between $50 - $130 for sessions lasting between 30 (virtual only) to 75 minutes. For those using health insurance to cover all or part of your sessions, we can only bill on a per session basis. Appointments billed through health insurance can last longer than 75 minutes, depending on time available and your needs during the session.
HOW MANY PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS DO I NEED TO ACCOMPLISH MY GOALS? AM I OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF SESSIONS?
Everyone has different needs based on their goals. We encourage at least 2 sessions per week with a personal trainer for a minimum of 3-4 months to start to see the long-term benefits of personal training. Some people choose to work with a personal trainer weekly for several years for accountability, support, and consistency. Some people just want to learn more about how to effectively work out and stay safe and choose to work with a trainer for 3-4 months. We offer single sessions and packages for personal training.
