NUTRITION EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Free community group nutrition education and cooking skill courses

At HealthyU Nutrition, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing chronic health conditions through skill and knowledge building, community and peer engagement, and guided group discussion. We've partnered with Happy Valley Parks and Recreation to offer cooking demos and nutrition talks.

Healthy Holiday Baking - $15 per participant, registration is required.

Friday, November 21st from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

Join us for a fun and festive class that brings joy to your kitchen without compromising your health goals! In this hands-on session, you'll learn how to lighten up your favorite holiday treats using wholesome ingredients and simple swaps that don’t sacrifice flavor.

 

• Live Food Demonstration – Watch and learn as our nutrition expert shows baking techniques to help you prepare a delicious, healthier holiday baked good.

• Take-Home Ingredients – Take home a pre-packed set of unique ingredients to recreate recipes or modify your own.

• Seasonal Tips & Tricks – Discover baking hacks, portion guidance, and smart substitutions to enjoy the season mindfully.

 

Perfect for all skill levels—bring your holiday spirit and sweet tooth!

 

**This course will not be allergen friendly. Wheat may be used or cross contamination with wheat will be likely. Eggs, dairy, and nuts may be used as well.**​​​​​​

DASH Into Wellness is course series using food demos and tastings  to learn about the foundation of the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating patterns with simple to make recipes that support dietary management for elevated blood pressure and blood sugar, as well as supporting a healthy dietary pattern for most individuals. DASH eating pattern is a healthy, well-balanced diet that promotes an increase in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains that most healthy individuals would benefit from. ​​​
