WHAT TO EXPECT
At HealthyU Nutrition, well-being is at the forefront of what we’re working together towards. Our programs and services are designed to be a catalyst that help you reach your goal.
Once you book your free 25-minute consultation online you will receive a confirmation email. If you schedule a phone consultation our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Cary Fardal, will call you at your scheduled time. If you schedule a virtual consultation, Cary will send you a follow up email with a link for a Zoom meeting at the designated time.
During the consultation Cary will share with you a brief overview of her career and journey as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and more information about HealthyU Nutrition as an organization. From there she will ask as few questions to review your relevant health information, discuss your health goals, and options for how we can achieve your goals in a realistic timeframe. Cary will also provide you with the opportunity to ask questions or provide additional information you feel is important to share at that time. The goal of the consultation is to make sure you and Cary are a good fit for working together to achieve your goals. If it’s decided that another RDN or health coach is a better fit for you, we encourage you to make the decision that’s best for you. If Cary thinks another RDN or Health Coach would be best for you she will refer you to them. Our goal is for you to achieve your goals!
If we choose to move forward, we will schedule your first session during the consultation. You will receive an email through our HIPAA approved web-based Health Portal called Healthie to create an account. Once you create an account, the portal will prompt you to complete standard HIPAA forms including a Privacy Practice Notification and Consent for Telehealth, there will also be a form to gather health insurance information (if applicable) and a health history questionnaire. We use this secure, HIPAA approved web-based platform for our medical records and online nutrition counseling sessions.
Our Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer has over 13 years of experience working with people in both individual and group settings. Everyone's health and wellness journey are different and depends on your starting point and the time you're willing to invest in yourself. We want to make sure you are provided with the best guidance and support possible, while keeping goals realistic and attainable. Most permanent lifestyle changes take 6-12 months to achieve and requires a life-long commitment to the behavior changes made. We have found that most people are have the best success when they commit to 8-10 nutrition counseling sessions in the first 4-6 months. From there, less frequent sessions can be scheduled as need arises.
We use evidence-based guidelines to help determine your nutrition needs but have found not everyone fits standard expectations for estimated energy needs. It should be expected that some adjustments to nutrition recommendations and suggestions will need to be made to assure you are as successful as possible transforming your health and wellness.
